This story is a combination of The Father and Paper
Ah Beng was a man who went drinking every night. When he went home, he would beat his wife and children. He had three children, Mui Mui, Ah Lian and Ah Mui. Mui Mui was a girl who had a habit of whining. She would whine when she was afraid. Ah Beng hates her whining which would only make him feel worse. Mui Mui was a girl who had big dreams. When she was little, she told her father that she wanted to own a big house.
One night, when Ah Beng was back from his drinking, Mui Mui whined. Ah Beng heard her whining and slapped her hard. Mui Mui slammed on the wall and fainted. Her mother managed to revive her with some cold water.
But three days later, Mui Mui died. Everyone pitied her fate and her father felt apologic to her too. Thinking about her dreams, he bought a paper house. On the cremation day, he put the house in the fire and wished that she would fulfil her wish in her next life.
